New Range of Ka-Band Frequency Converters
WORK Microwave has developed a competitive and flexible Ka-Band design matched with customers most current needs in terms of bandwidth coverage and performance.

The new Ka-Band units apply the most up-to date technologies and showcase two important features - very wide bandwidth coverage (27.5 - 31 Ghz) for IF inputs 70/140 MHz and a spurious free conversion over the complete band due to high-side injection of the LO up to 39 Ghz.

Users of these units will benefit from the modular architecture, that allows perfectly adopted designs for specific requirements, i.e. frequency range, optional spectrum inversion and conversion gain.

Improved Modulator Design

We have improved the design of our DVB-S2 modulators based on our knowledge and customer feedback.

• Frequency range is enhanced from 950-1750 MHz to 950-2150 MHz (L-Band)
• Option to have 75 Ohm output impedance now available in L-Band
• Phase noise is reduced up to 3 dB in the offset range 10 Hz to 10 kHz (VHF- and L-Band)
• Spurious emissions is reduced from -65 dBc to -70 dBc (VHF- and L-Band)
• An updated heat sink provides lower device temperature eliminating the need for a noisy fan

We are dedicated to the continuous improvement of our modulators and are already working on the next phase of developments. These developments include an optional external 10 MHz Reference PLL, enabling the user to synchronize the internal 10 MHz Reference of the modulators with an external precise time standard.

Modulators with Integrated Up-Converters
WORK Microwave is one of the only satellite communications equipment manufacturers to offer Modulators and Synthesized Up- Converters or Block Up-Converters as a single unit

Combining two stand-alone products offers a distinct advantage in the miniature size of the unit. In addition the combined products are less sensitive to terrestrial interference due to less cable loss and the close proximity of all modules inside single shield housing.
